On page 0.18 of Haynes manual 4376 for the Fabia, the wrong oil grades are given for the diesel engines. If you use oils of these specifications, you will trash your engine in lots of interesting ways. For all unit injector engines, you must use lubricant meeting VW 505.01 for 10k changes or 506.01 for variable changes.

Tech corner >>> Climate control gone mad

I've just bought a Fabia with climate control. The control is simple: it cooks you for half an hour, then freezes you. Before I start pulling out random bits of infrastructure, does anyone know a quick cure for this? I suspect the temperature sensor, but I'm not sure where it is or how to remove it. Thanks.

Hi every body!
I like the Czech its a bit similar to our serian but I don't understand enough, and I certinaly can't write.
I have a 1979 Škoda 120l, and I have a problem with it. On cold start it simply won't start.. It starts at the end but only after 5-6 minutes of tourtureing.. I cheked the ignition, fuel pump was recently changed, compression 10 bar on each cylinder. The only thing left is the Ikov. Does anybody have any expirience with these carburetttors?

hi. i have a 120L and the worst part is that the bolt that holds the air cleaner onto the top of the carby causes the top plate of the carby to bulge upwards causing loss of seal in the vacumm to the secondary stage.The secondary stage is controled by a vacumm diaphram soleniod.If the bulge is to great the second stage wont work.Sometimes you can polish the top plate square if not buy a new top plate. Here in Australia my 120L run real well. Ray.
